Summer in the UK is well and truly underway, barring a few odd days here and there of course. But we all can agree that the last few weeks have been consistently warm, and perfect for sipping an ice cool beverage to combat the heat.
At Benares, we are staunch believers in keeping it cool. Especially during the summer, because hey – we have our roots in the hot climes of the Indian subcontinent; and trust us when we tell you we know the secret of keeping yourself appropriately hydrated *wink wink*
Our Bar Manager, the extraordinary Hannan has come up with three brand new offerings that are guaranteed to turn you into a cool customer (pun intended).
First up, we have got Beat The Heat
A stunning non-alcoholic drink that does total justice to its name. Made with fresh watermelon juice, mint, lime and agave; this beauty is as refreshing as it looks. The customers love it, describing it as the perfect way of keeping cool in the ongoing warm weather.
Next up, we have Tear Drop Margarita
This gorgeous cocktail is not for the faint of heart, but a rewarding experience for those looking to be adventurous in their choice of drink. The cocktail consists of tequila, infused with a special chutney made in-house containing lime, garam masala and more. The taste profile has zing, zest and spice for days; and does a stellar job of keeping you feeling (and looking) cool. I mean, seriously – who wouldn’t look cool holding this?
Last but not the least, we have Achari Sour
Trust us when we say this is the King of all sours you have tasted so far. Made with a heady concoction of Bankhall Whisky infused a chutney made of pickled vegetables with notes of vinegar and brine and a touch of herbal flavours of ginger garlic and peppercon, this cocktail is as playful as it is delicious. The highlight of this drink apart from its mischievous taste profile is the image on top of the foam. This is always a surprise for our guests; the way it was for us at the time of photographing the cocktail. Spiderman to the rescue, people!
