Benares, the Michelin-starred modern Indian restaurant in Mayfair, was awarded the top accolade of Best Restaurant in Central London at the star-studded British Curry Awards in association with Just Eat on Monday 29th November. Nominated by the British Public, the ‘Curry Oscars’ honour the crème of the UK’s curry restaurants.
Despite a challenging 18 months, Benares regained its Michelin star earlier this year under the leadership of Executive Chef Sameer Taneja.
Speaking on the restaurant’s success, Sameer comments: “We are incredibly proud of everything we have achieved over the past year and it’s a testament to the hard work of the entire Benares team. We’re always working towards excellence through innovation, exceptional service and passion, and it’s wonderful to see this recognised by the prestigious British Curry Awards.”
Benares was also crowned London’s Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year at the Asian Curry Awards on 21st November 2021.
