Looking Back at a Glorious Collaboration
Last week, we successfully concluded a unique four-hands dinner with Indian Accent at Benares. What started off in April in Delhi - the capital of India, finally came full circle in its London chapter. The aim of this collaboration was not just to join forces and show off the culinary prowess of two establishments that are considered institutions in modern Indian gastronomy, but also to showcase the incredibly diverse range of Indian cuisine and present it to our discerning diners.
Our esteemed guests were in for an extraordinarily indulgent dining experience, courtesy a collaborative Tasting Menu featuring some of the finest Benares and Indian Accent have to offer. With starters like bird seekh kebab, sour apple panipuri, dahi aloo and gari goats cheese dabeli, the service was off to a delightful start. The courses that arrived thereafter included innovative yet traditional delicacies such as the iconic scallop malabar of Benares, hiran ki boti, our ever-popular samosa ragda tartlet and the delectable prawn momos with foie-gras in bone-marrow curry; and some of the most venerated dishes from Indian Accent such as tellicherry pepper crab & kerala istoo, slow braised lamb shank with prune and mulberry korma, kashmiri morel musallam with green chilli cream and walnut dust. The proverbial cherry on the cake was the celebrated daulat ki chaat and doda burfi treacle tart by Indian Accent and banana halwa tart with kentish cherries and ice cream.
Thanks to the ingenuity, artistry and ebullience of Chef Sameer Taneja and Chef Shantanu Mehrotra, combined with the tireless efforts of our Managers - Mukesh Pandey Richard Calina and Prabhat Singh and their team, our front of house and kitchen staff, the event concluded successfully, making it a memorable experience for our diners. We would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to all those at Indian Accent who were involved in the making of this event; and also to our dear guests whose patronage we deeply value.
